Biography - Mark Evan Ivie
 

 

Born in a log house in Eagle River, Alaska, Mark Ivie has a tremendous appreciation for the splendor of the outdoors, its wildness and subtleties. His passion is capturing that energy in his landscapes as well as the cultural and emotional expressions of the people and places he paints and draws. He has traveled extensively throughout the world drawing and painting as well as collecting images and inspiration to bring to his studio in Green Valley.

Art training began at the early age of 6 with John Gnagy's TV art series and watching his mother paint landscapes. Mark studied with various artists and graduated from California State University Northridge with a B.A. in Industrial Design. He works in a wide variety of mediums, including oils, watercolors, colored pencils, acrylics, charcoal, etc. all used to express his keen sense of composition color and contrast.

Mark  is  an experienced fine artist, freelance illustrator, graphic and industrial designer and model maker. His work ranges from illustrating a children's book, painting murals, to creating full size automotive clay models and show cars. His long list of clients includes BMW, John Deere, Samsonite, GM, Gulfstream, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney, etc. His paintings and drawings can be found in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. He has gained widespread U.S. recognition from the many juried shows, galleries and exhibitions he has participated in.

Mark has been a member of the Westlake Village Art Guild and served on the board of Directors for years. He is also currently a member of the Lakes and Valleys Art Guild and the Antelope Valley Allied Arts Association.
